The Junior Specialist will work under the direction of Dr. Reza Yaesoubi at the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead projects broadly related to public health data science, modeling, and decision analysis. This includes, but is not limited to, developing machine learning models to predict the risk of certain health outcomes, developing reinforcement learning models to optimize public health responses to pandemics, and developing cost-effectiveness models to optimize the selection of antibiotics for the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis. One of the main purposes of this position is to provide hands on research experience for individuals who are considering pursuing PhD studies. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate as lead author in publications arising from this work and to communicate findings in oral presentations at national and international conferences.
