Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent hybrid opportunity for an Experience & Submissions Manager based in any of our U.S. offices (Austin, Chicago, Boston, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Menlo Park, Orange County, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Seattle, Washington DC, or Wheeling, WV).

The Objective: As the Experience & Submissions Manager, you will lead the Experience & Submissions team, providing strategic guidance and project management oversight of all submissions, while managing data collection and best practices for directory and league table submissions. You will own and lead the entire lifecycle of the submissions process for the firm.

What will I do? The Experience & Submissions Manager will ensure timely and accurate submissions to league tables and directories.

How will I spend my time? You will spend most of your time on these responsibilities:


Responsibilities

Team Leadership/Procedurals

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Experience & Submissions team.
  • Create and drive adoption of best practices for both data collection and directory and league table submissions.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training as required.
  • Coordinate with and leverage the firm's contracted consultant where appropriate.

Experience Management

  • Lead quality assurance on experience data captured by the Experience & Submissions team.
  • Oversee key relationships with legal teams to ensure consistency between practices and sectors in recording data.
  • Represent the experience and submissions team with legal teams, driving data standards agenda.

Submissions Oversight

  • Lead the management and oversight of submissions to ensure timely entry to league tables and directories.
  • Project manage high priority submissions, ensuring alignment with firm strategy.
  • Maintain the submissions and league tables calendar, tracking statuses in real time and providing updates and notifications as necessary to ensure deadlines are met.

Research and Development

  • Research submissions and awards not currently entered by the firm and provide guidance and structure on potential awards.
  • Work with the Sr. Manager, BD Operations, and the Digital Technology & Data (DTD) team to hone analytics and reporting processes.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of marketing or business development experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Deep legal industry experience with a variety of directories, rankings, submissions, and league tables, including Chambers, Legal 500, and PitchBook.
  • Excels at managing multiple tasks and deadlines with excellent prioritization skills.
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to craft a compelling story.
  • Strong people management skills and experience, with the ability to lead and coach team members.
  • Proficiency in data analysis with an ability to leverage data to meet key goals and objectives.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between

  • California Major Markets* $101,000 - $175,000
  • New York City $116,000 - $175,000
  • National $91,000 - $116,000

* California Major Markets includes San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica. All other California locations fall within National range.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
