Overview

This position is key to meeting TRC's 5 Year Strategic Plan by differentiating ourselves with the continued development and improvement of GIS (graphical information system) based solutions. This individual will be responsible for the GIS group meeting client expectations with the timely completion of technology-based project deliverables. This individual leads a team of GIS professionals who provide expertise to a variety of clients in the areas of engineering and design of natural resources, energy, transportation, and land acquisition. This position works closely with all Land and Survey departments as well as other TRC sectors. In addition to typical managerial duties, this individual will be responsible for the maintenance of existing GIS software and the development of new GIS software and technologies.


Responsibilities

  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work with employees, clients, project managers, members of project teams, and other individuals.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for GIS projects, including data collection, analysis, and visualization.
  • Operate autonomously and efficiently without direct supervision, while ensuring the timely completion of projects and tasks.
  • Familiar with PowerBI and other 'dashboard' reporting systems, including configuration to meet client needs
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in making critical decisions related to GIS data management, analysis, and presentation.
  • Investigate and resolve complex GIS-related issues on behalf of management, providing detailed analysis and recommendations.
  • Possess the authority to make independent choices and decisions regarding GIS methodologies, technologies, and workflows, with minimal immediate direction or oversight.
  • Proficient data management and cartographic skills and techniques, with attention to detail and quality control for drafts and deliverables.
  • Organizational and time management skills to complete the responsibilities of providing support for concurrent projects and department leadership.
  • Ability to convert and integrate data from CAD platforms into GIS, interpret engineering data, and communicate effectively with engineers and others.
  • Ability to generate estimate utilizing client provided RFPs.
  • Influence and generate management policies and operational practices related to GIS, leveraging expertise to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Comfortable working long distance with both clients and employees.
  • Comfortable training and managing new employees.
  • Assume full responsibility for GIS projects from inception to completion, proactively identifying and addressing challenges, and executing effective strategies to achieve project goals.
  • Perform annual reviews, establish goals, and develop staff growth plans.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years GIS or related work experience.
  • Highly proficient with GIS industry software, ArcSDE, ArcDesktop Suite, and ArcGIS Server.
  • Knowledge of various ROWAcquisition activities and datasets required for payment generation.
  • Extensive experience with database implementation and management of ArcSDE.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Power Point, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to travel to TRC or client offices or job sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of PODS and other industry standard GIS data models.
  • Working knowledge of python, model builder and other efficiency enabling tools
  • Awareness of use of HTTP Calls and APIs to keep data in various platforms in sync.
  • Awareness of land surveying techniques, legal descriptions and land acquisition activities.
  • Experience with AutoDesk suite of products (Civil3D preferred)

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $115,003.00 - USD $120,640.00 /Yr.
