Benefits and Leave Specialist

Valiant seeks a Benefits & Leave Specialist to assist with the administration of benefits, leave & disability, 401k plan and the wellness program. This includes Short Term and Long Term disability, State leaves, Military leave, FMLA and ADA.

Responsibilities:



  • Provide first line of support for all leave, disability and ADA inquiries.
  • Research and respond to all leave inquiries. Coordinates with HRBPs and Supervisors on leave status updates.
  • Maintain and monitor leave management system.
  • Weekly reporting on leave updates t HRBPs and managers.
  • Audit leaves in coordination with employee timesheets. Works with supervisors to ensure coded correctly on a regular basis.
  • Monitors and processes military leave differentials to payroll.
  • Responds to 401k inquiries and issues from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
  • Maintains and coordinates the 401k files with ADP and the 401 vendor
  • Monitors 401k upload and coordinates with payroll and HRIS on any discrepancies.
  • Audits 401k deductions and timeliness of deposits.
  • Coordinates and monitors the ACA process with quarterly audits between HRIS and our Benefits Administration platform. This includes ACA reporting of hours.
  • Audits Benefit Classifications for consistency and corrections.
  • Assists with Union requests for benefits information as needed.
  • Promotes a positive team and company culture through various campaigns and initiatives.
  • Assists with leave and other benefit policy review, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:



  • General understanding of administering employee benefits
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Government contracting experience preferred.


Educational Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field is preferred. However, related experience is also considered and/or other training/certification may be substituted for education.
  • Two year's experience in HR and/or Benefits Administration.
