About the Job

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized project manager to lead and deliver projects from initiation to completion in support of high priority initiatives in the Office of Human Resources. This position resides within the Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS) department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing and closing projects - ensuring they are completed on time, within scope and on budget while meeting stakeholder expectations. This role will also serve as the scrum coach for the Payroll, Time and Absence business / systems analysts in the HRMS team.

Please note, this position is not eligible for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship. This position does not offer a STEM OPT training program.

Compensation: $89,000 - $99,000 (Depending on Experience)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage projects and production system releases. Approximately, 70% of the projects and tasks are business focused and 30% of them are related to PeopleSoft HCM system updates.
  • Work with stakeholders to define and clarify project scope, objectives, and deliverables that support the business goals.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines and budgets with input from the project team members.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs with appropriate governance and decision making.
  • Identify and track issues, risks and decisions made; ensure issues and risks have identified owners and plans in place to mitigate or remediate.
  • Communicate project process, risks and opportunities to stakeholders regularly, including delivery of status reports.
  • Lead the implementation and development of change management strategy and process; coordinate the development of change management deliverables including user procedures, guidelines, communications and training documentation as needed.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and lead the project team through lessons learned.
  • Maintain project artifacts and archive as needed.
  • Participate in capacity planning for the HRMS team in coordination with leadership.
  • Collaborate with Product Manager, vendors and/or Office of Information Technology to identify resources, resolve issues and implement system updates.
  • Serve as a positive change driver within the HRMS team, within OHR, and across the University.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills - both written and oral. Ability to determine appropriate times and methods for communications, based on the audience and level of the stakeholder.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, MIS, Computer Science or a closely related field and 4 years of experience OR master's degree plus at least two years of experience
  • Experience in agile methodology or acting in the role of a scrum coach
  • Experience with leading and managing business and/or system initiatives with responsibility for the areas related to the duties aforementioned in the role
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people with a variety of backgrounds including business representatives from across the University, technology resources from IT, and business process owners
  • Strong commitment to support the University's goal of creating a positive and inclusive campus climate for all by advancing equity and diversity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in areas related to the duties assigned
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience in managing projects in PeopleSoft HCM or other similar HR technology platforms
  • Experience and proficiency in project management and/or agile tools (ie, MS project, Trello, JIRA, Asana, Google Sheets, etc)
  • Understanding of project level dependencies across the various HR functions, departments and systems
  • Experience in working in a higher education environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational, time management and leadership skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $89,000 - $99,000 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
