Department of Medicine - Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism

Job Description

The University of Missouri School of Medicine is seeking board-certified or board-eligible endocrinologists to join our dynamic Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. We welcome applications from both new graduates and experienced clinicians. With a strong and growing patient base, and excellent relationships with referring providers across the region, our division plays a vital role in improving the lives of Missourians affected by diabetes and metabolic disorders.
In addition to our clinical mission, the division is nationally recognized for research excellence, with robust extramural funding and dedicated philanthropic support.

About the Division
Team: 9 faculty physicians, 2 advanced practice providers (APPs), and 6 endocrinology fellows
Support Staff: Includes LPN, CAN, and two on-site diabetes educators, including a certified dietitian with pump certification.

Facilities: Outpatient clinics are based in the recently renovated Cosmopolitan International Diabetes and Endocrinology Center and the Harry S. Truman VA Medical Center
Inpatient responsibilities performed at the 400-Bed University Hospital, on the University of Missouri's main campus
Multidisciplinary Clinics: Collaborations with Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery at the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center
Specialty Services: Consultative and procedural care for patients with adrenal, pituitary, and obesity-related conditions

Clinical Focus: Primarily a clinical role with meaningful opportunities for teaching and academic engagement
Call Responsibilities: Inpatient consult coverage approximately 1 weekend every six weeks

Educational Environment
Active Endocrinology Fellowship Program, graduating three fellows annually with a strong track record of academic success
Internal Medicine and Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency programs with approximately 80 residents
Medical school with a class size of 128 students per year

Research Environment
NIH-funded faculty engaged in cutting-edge research in cardiovascular and metabolic health, including:
Vascular remodeling, repair, and regeneration
Heart failure, bioenergetics, and precision nutrition
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
The NextGen Precision Health facility-a 265,000 sq. ft. research hub-focuses on translational science in cardiometabolic diseases
Ongoing clinical trials through the Clinical Research Center, with expansion into the NextGen Clinical Translational Sciences Unit
