Genesis10 is currently looking for a Systems/Business Analyst for a 12 month contract role for our client in Denver, CO. This role is 100% remote.

Summary:

Designs, implements, analyzes and modifies systems for various applications. Defines system objectives and prepares system design specifications. Responsible for interface problem solving. Responsible for gathering analyzing client business requirements in order to identify and solve problems. Acts as communication liaison between business and IT teams.

This Senior Business Analyst is accountable for requirements definition and management for the EMS Upgrade project. This project supports an upgrade to client's Transmission SCADA system which monitors and controls the Bulk Electric System (BES). The project will upgrade the Client PowerOn Reliance (2019) solution to the Client PowerOn Reliance (2025) solution.

Project activities include developing as-is and to-be workflows, gathering and documenting functional requirements, producing use cases, requirement change management, documentation, distribution and archiving of meeting minutes including related action items, next steps, risks, and decisions, and ensuring traceability from requirements to test cases. Additionally, this position will be responsible to develop and maintain a variety of visual diagrams that represent various process flows, functional flows, project timeline for foundational use across and throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • The Senior Business Analyst is a representative of and our financial client for the Business in day-to-day project activities. Works closely with a variety of Business stakeholders from multiple business areas within *** (Transmission, Technology Services, Commercial Operations, etc) to identify, analyze and document Business requirements and related work products throughout the project life cycle.
  • Works closely with a variety of Information Technology stakeholders from within *** and from Third parties (Client, Systems Integrator, QA and compliance parties, etc) to articulate Business requirements, be involved in issue resolution, and ensure successful realization of requirements related work products throughout the project life cycle.
  • The BA position requires strong communication skills including the ability to facilitate Electric Transmission SCADA system Business and technical requirement meetings and reviews, build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and vendors, keep stakeholders focused on a common goal, and the ability to effectively document the Business and technical requirements in use case form.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of Business Analyst experience.
  • Proven experience collecting and managing Business needs and requirements throughout a project lifecycle (initiation, planning, design, development, testing and implementation).
  • Proven success documenting Business needs and requirements with a diverse group of stakeholders and delivering well written use cases that can be tied directly to design and test documents.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to apply judgment to involve business teams and identify the appropriate resources to be involved - thus maximizing business resource involvement and minimizing their time away from business operations.
  • Hold a high standard of deliverable readiness and meeting preparedness with all project teams, before involving business resources.
  • Ability to review design documentation and test cases to ensure alignment and coverage of all requirements.
  • Ability to collect, manage and quantify requirement change requests.
  • Ability to articulate requirement related issues, represent business interest in resolution / options reviews, and lead stakeholders to resolution decisions.
  • Experience with requirements definition and change management on a COTS upgrade or implementation software project, including various integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Direct experience with Electric Transmission SCADA solutions for a Utility is preferred. Specifically, familiarity with Electric Transmission business processes is highly desired.


Compensation:

Hourly W2 pay rate $90.00 to $95.00/hr

We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
