The School of Arts and Sciences (

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Administrative Coordinator for the School of Arts and Sciences (
SAS) - Department of English. This position reports to the Senior Department Administrator Supervisor with faculty leadership oversight. The Administrative Coordinator works with minimal direct instructions, and demonstrates strong organizational skills, as well as a keen ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Completes organizational and operational functioning of the Plangere Writing and Culture Lab and supports the administrative needs of all English Department affiliated units.
- Produces reports, materials and communications related to the operation, assessment, research and business activities of the Plangere Writing and Culture Lab and affiliated units, as well as supervising and implementing administrative processes and procedures.
- Completes all work consistent with an understanding of the mission, vision, and goals of the Department of English.
- Provides administrative support to faculty leadership.
- Responsibilities include advising and supporting faculty leadership in organizational and process-oriented aspects of the Plangere Writing and Culture Lab.
- Serves as a liaison within and outside of the English Department to assist students, staff, and faculty.
- Serves as the main assistant to the faculty leadership.
- Oversees all details regarding the organization and delivery of Plangere Writing and Culture Lab events, conferences, and meetings Space management.
- Multimedia and technology support services.
- Social media and website management.
- Business activities including procurement, hiring functions, grant and endowment support.
- Coordinates special projects as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- A bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, coordination, facilitation, and report writing.
- A minimum of two years relevant experience in an administrative function.
