Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator (Youth Mentoring) for the Pre-College Outreach department. Reporting to the Acting Associate Vice Chancellor, the Senior Program Coordinator (Youth Mentoring) oversees and coordinates mentoring programs and family workshop series for local, academically at-risk youth and families in community settings.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Serves as the volunteer placement liaison between Rutgers University and surrounding school districts.
- Plans, coordinates, and manages Mentoring, Workshops, host college bound days and other programs and events.
- The position requires a high-level of accountability with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at any given time.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- A bachelor's degree in a psychology, education, social work or related social sciences.
- At least two years of relevant experience working in a program management function in higher ed or youth-serving setting and knowledge of current practices in mentoring programs, experience in service learning, community-based research and student internships in higher education.

- Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to effectively interact with diverse populations, including work with a variety of units and departments to meet area mission.
- Ability to multi-task, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Must have a friendly and professional demeanor, with a focus on customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
- Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Individual must be self-reliant, an independent worker and thinker, and exercise sound professional judgment.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's degree.
- Knowledge of current practices in mentoring programs, experience in service learning, community-based research and student internships in higher education.
- This knowledge is fundamental to successfully fulfill the requirements of mentoring program and school placement planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish a plus.

- Must have strong familiarity with equipment and software needed for mentoring and program management, including but not limited to Qualtrics, CANVAS, Microsoft Office Suite.

- Position may be asked to lift boxes and materials up to 25lbs.
