About the Job

This position will play a pivotal role in the overall management of a student-athlete's career (academic and athletic) from recruitment through graduation. This includes but is not limited to: guiding the student athlete's academic, career, personal, and social development, while managing the student's NCAA and Big Ten eligibility. This position requires the ability to build relationships with all campus colleagues who interact with our student-athletes throughout their careers.

This position will be on-campus, in person, 100% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Student-Athlete Tutor Program Coordination
    • Assist with scheduling tutor sessions for all student-athletes
    • Assist with tutor recruiting and job interviews
    • Assist with tutor orientation and trainings in accordance with University, CRLA and NCAA guidelines
    • Coordinates student-athlete tutor needs with the applicable LAC academic advisor
    • Liaison between student-athletes and tutors and between tutors and academic advisors
    • Internal tutor database management
    • Coordinates tutor evaluation and formal tutor end of semester feedback processes
    • Provide general supervision and observation of student-athlete tutoring sessions
  • Student-Athlete Learning Support
    • Meet with assigned students weekly assisting with academic progress monitoring and planning
    • Serve as a learning assistant in one-on-one or group settings and provide organizational and learning strategy objectives
    • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly goals and timelines with individual student-athletes.
    • Create and monitor weekly objective sheets for students in consultation with academic advisors and learning specialists
    • Assure student-athletes with documented learning disabilities are properly utilizing their accommodations.
    • Assist advisors and learning specialists in daily tasks. Examples include: Compiling reports (study hall, grades, class schedules, attendance, etc.), Recruiting, Monitoring daily and/or evening study halls, University and Academic Center orientation.
    • Participate in training focusing on academic advising and learning specialist curriculums
    • Possess working knowledge of University academic rules and policies
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

* BA/BS degree, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and problem solve.
* Must successfully pass a mandatory criminal background check.
* Flexible hours, with some night and weekend work.
* Experience with Teamworks software or comparable database
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $41,620.80 - $44,408.00 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience
