About EnergyHub

EnergyHub empowers utilities and their customers to create a clean, distributed energy future. We help consumers turn their smart thermostats, EVs, batteries, and other products into virtual power plants that keep the grid stable and enable higher penetration of solar and wind power.

About the Opportunity

EnergyHub is hiring a Director of Product to lead several critical product areas that help utility clients build big, valuable virtual power plants (VPPs) that leverage behind-the-meter DERs like EVs and batteries to solve real-world energy challenges.

Reporting to the VP of Product, the Director of Product will be responsible for a sizable portion of revenue-generating software solutions. The successful candidate will bring deep experience in the energy, climate, IOT or related industry; has a track record of developing high-performing teams of product managers; and has a proven ability to forge strong cross-functional relationships that accelerate progress towards the company mission. They will develop a strategy and roadmap that helps scale our existing capabilities and set strategic priorities for new ways we can create future value for our clients.

Main Responsibilities: What you'll do

  • Align the product strategy for your group with the strategic vision of the company, and implement and measure KPIs to track progress
  • Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to continuously discover and validate the product vision and strategy
  • Establish a product roadmap that continuously delivers fresh value to our utility clients
  • Evaluate and implement solutions to help us rapidly grow several lines of business, delivering scalable, delightful products on time
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers focused on solving problems and discovering opportunities, and work with other people managers to ensure appropriate staffing to reach our goals
  • Model best-in-class product development skills and help shape process and standards for the entire product management team
  • Bring a fresh perspective to our team, offering suggestions we haven't considered, pointing out problems that need to be solved, and helping us move forward in our mission
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience: What you need

  • 8+ years of software product management, including 3+ years managing a team of high-performing product managers
  • Significant experience defining and building enterprise-grade SaaS products with notable technical complexity
  • Experience working with electric utilities or IoT, familiarity with modern grid management and planning tools and frameworks, or comparable expertise
  • Ability to think strategically with a willingness to be hands-on in day-to-day product work
  • Deep curiosity, a growth mindset, and drive to resolve ambiguity
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience aligning and influencing cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Bias for quantifiable results (versus activity) and willingness to hold yourself and others accountable for delivering results
  • Passion for sustainability, renewable energy, and driving positive environmental impact
  • (Preferred) Experience both with scaling up existing solutions and bringing new products to market
