Project Coordinator SME

Description of Specific Duties in a Typical Workday for This Position:




  • Work as a member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT); support life cycle project management activities for training simulators, simulations, training aids, test and training instrumentation systems, and combat tactical training solutions in accordance with DoD processes and procedures



  • Provide technical input to acquisition documents required per DoD guidelines



  • Coordinate project activities across functional domains including engineering, logistics, financial management, and contracts



  • Provide expert-level advice to the Project Director and IPT members on program acquisition, execution, and training system development, including combat tactical training integration



  • Track cost, schedule, and performance for a portfolio of projects; schedule and attend technical and programmatic reviews; resolve identified issues and prepare documentation for scheduled reviews



  • Coordinate all ongoing projects; identify and provide input to the Project Director to execute risk management strategies and assess contractor performance



  • Travel approximately 25%, including both CONUS and OCONUS locations




Required Skills:




  • Experience using Microsoft Project



  • Knowledge of DoD Acquisition Processes and Procedures



  • Familiarity with combat tactical training programs and operational requirements



  • Knowledge and skills in management concepts, principles, methods, practices, analytical techniques, and processes



  • Understanding of project management principles, including planning and executing assigned workloads



  • Knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles



  • Ability to manage projects within financial and time constraints



  • Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures



  • Ability to synthesize and integrate complex information



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills



  • Strong organizational and planning abilities



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint




Position Requirements:




  • Bachelor's Degree



  • PMP or DAWIA Level III Certification



  • 10+ years of relevant experience



  • Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs



  • Active Secret Clearance
