Strategic Planning Analyst

Position Summary:

The Strategic Planning Analyst will lead the preparation and presentation of materials needed to support the weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews by Methode's senior leadership team. Initially, the role will focus primarily on Sales Forecasting, reconciling internal and external information sources to support timely and informed business decision processes. Internally, the Analyst will work with operations, supply chain and finance team members in each of Methode's global factory locations to ensure timely and consistent information flows on planned and actual production. Externally, the Analyst will establish sources, processes and methods to incorporate market-based data to inform longer-range forecasts and plans. Once the information, reports and processes for Sales Forecasting have been established, the Analyst will progress through other high-priority strategic planning areas such as manufacturing capacity planning, product and technology trend evaluation.

Position Responsibilities:

Information Sourcing

* Work with supply chain, operations and finance teams to establish accurate and repeatable information sources and data flows for anticipated supply and demand forecasts

* Work with sales and information technology teams to incorporate third-party syndicated data sources into forecasts for demand from Methode's customers, such as automotive and commercial vehicle manufacturers.

* For markets (such as agricultural and construction vehicles) where syndicated data isn't available, develop creative information sourcing, processing and validation strategies to develop reliable proxies to underpin sales forecasts

Data Analysis and Reporting

* Create reports, dashboards and other information presentation formats that help to identify anomalies or deviations from expected business performance that merit additional attention from business leaders.

* Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and data analyses for executive briefings, Board meetings, and leadership updates on business performance and other strategic priorities.

Interpersonal Engagement and Communication

* Develop strong working relationships across the organization, building trust and a shared commitment to creation of clear, informative and broadly comparable business performance information.

* Work cross-functionally to understand the business processes within each of the major functional areas of the company, to ensure that performance forecasts and reports are drawn from appropriate sources and definitions are applied consistently across all global locations and product areas.

* Develop expertise in blueprinting processes and information flows to ensure timely and effective implementation of supporting technologies to store, process, analyze and display relevant information

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Math, Engineering, Economics), with additional course work or Masters in a business-related field preferred.

* One to three years of relevant work experience, ideally in corporate finance, strategy, or consulting.

* Understanding corporate finance concepts, with the ability to interpret and work with marketing, sales, operations, and production information as well as standard financial statements.

* Demonstrated analytical abilities applied to business challenges, with a proactive approach to identifying efficiencies and opportunities.

* Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, with the drive, intuition and quantitative aptitude to identify, investigate and uncover root causes and correlations for observed patterns in important data series.

* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience packaging insights for various audiences, including executives.

* Proficiency in data visualization, analysis, modeling, and business presentation tools.

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $64,200 - $88,350 annually.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
