Paralegal - Staff Counsel

This position will report to our Scottsdale, AZ office location.

What You'll Do:

Our Paralegals assist staff counsel by performing legal activities that don't require attorney signature, client advise, or appearances in court. In addition, you'll:

• Assist in the preparation of responses to discovery under direct supervision of an attorney

• Perform factual investigations and document searches

• Obtain investigative materials and policy information

• Contact insureds and other witnesses to obtain factual statements.

• Coordinate scheduling of litigation activities and witness appearances

What it Takes:

• Associate Degree or equivalent work experience

• Minimum 2 years of related work experience in a litigation setting

• Experience with Washington and Texas litigation is helpful

• American Bar Association-Certified Paralegal Training preferred

• Advanced knowledge of case management; and knowledge of, and ability to, perform legal research

• Strong analytical ability and knowledge of litigation processes

• Ability to work independently
