The transition from student to skillful and confident professional is integral to the success of University of Virginia's School of Data Science (SDS) graduates. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and student-centered career development practitioner to complement our career coaching team. This individual will serve as a Career Advisor on the Career Services team within the Office of Student Affairs at the School of Data Science. The Career Advisor will focus on direct service and provide career guidance, professional development, and opportunity search assistance to students and recent graduates. The SDS Career Advisor will play a critical role in helping students and recent alumni articulate and realize their individual career and professional aspirations. They will partner with undergraduate and graduate students to offer strategies, resources and connections that support individual career priorities. The Career Advisor will educate students on the realities of the current hiring landscape. They will also assist students in developing career readiness skills critical for the effective transition from school to career and beyond, to build a foundation for life-long career development and agility.
