The Role

Joining Balfour Beatty as a Project Engineer you will have the opportunity to play role in supporting the management of large scale commercial construction projects. You will be part of a highly experienced and driven team ensuring project success from preconstruction through close-out.

You will have a significant runway for continued development, learning and career growth as well as exposure to a wide range of complex high-value marquee projects.

Essential Functions



  • Drive Project Financial Success:
    Support project management by proactively managing budgets, tracking expenses, processing billings, and identifying scope gaps to keep projects on time and within budget.
  • Lead Preconstruction Support:
    Help initiate project systems, develop scopes of work and bid packages, and support subcontractor and supplier engagement.
  • Support Scheduling and Site Logistics:
    Assist with job site planning, subcontractor orientations, and schedule coordination, ensuring all safety, sustainability, and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate Project Administration:
    Own the submittal process, manage documentation, conduct quality checks, track changes, and facilitate smooth project close-out.
  • Champion Customer Relationships:
    Foster strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors while representing our values and exceeding expectations.
  • Contribute to Culture & Growth:
    Lead by example, promote company values, support team development, and invest in your own professional growth through continuous learning and training.


What you will need



  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction in either the office or field.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented team player with strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of construction processes, project controls, and document management
  • Eagerness to build a career in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and delivering exceptional results
