Aon is looking for a Rewards Sr. Consultant - San Francisco, Boston, New York, open to Virtual

Rewards & Career Advisory, a unit of Aon's Human Capital Solutions practice, is looking for a Sr. Compensation Consultant to join our Enterprise Rewards advisory practice.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone with prior compensation consulting experience with strong analytical, communication and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This candidate can sit in any Aon US office or be virtual based in the continental United States.

What a day will look like

  • Successfully manage deliverables for small-to-medium-sized projects or specific elements of large complex projects w to project timelines and budgets. Routinely outline project work steps for low-to-moderate complexity projects or workstreams. Facilitates project management activities, documents progress/next steps, and escalates obstacles as needed.
  • Under general oversight, creates high-quality deliverables, including those that require synthesizing and interpreting complex information beyond the standard templates.
  • Completes compensation design, job architecture, job evaluation, develops salary structures and/or incentive targets, and conducts cost modeling and impact analysis.
  • Reviews and is accountable for all methodology / analysis / output on each staffed project.
  • Participates in or lead data gathering and fact finding at the client.
  • Serves as intermediary between engagement leaders, staff resources, and clients.
  • Develops reports including findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
  • Regularly interfaces with and may co-deliver presentations to clients.
  • Provides regular guidance and developmental feedback to junior staff.
  • Supports new business/firm development activities.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 8+ years of compensation consulting and/or corporate compensation experience. Compensation consulting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rewards, including contributions to strategic transaction projects (M&A), base pay and or incentive plan design, job architecture and job evaluation, and/or pay transparency and pay equity.
  • Ability to drive from data to insight and articulate the "so what". Demonstrated ability to identify results that deviate from expectations or warrant further review.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research on rewards trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to build complex Excel workbooks, develop insights to facilitate project objectives and lead projects for a standard set of practice offerings.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate proactively and transparently with a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to synthesize and translate large amounts of complex data into accessible findings and identify business implications.
  • Strong consultative skills, including relationship building, process skills, and facilitation skills. Experience working effectively within teams.
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Maturity to operate independently, yet maintain open communication with team members on changing landscape/priorities.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous consulting experience preferred
  • Experience working with large multinational or global companies experience preferred

Education: Bachelor's degree

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $140,000 - $165,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
