Project/Unit Description

The GTRI CIPHER Lab's Secure Information Systems (SIS) Division is currently seeking a DoD Business Analyst. The division concentrates on the design and development of secure real-world, multi-compartment, multi-level information sharing applications. Hardware and software design methodologies are combined to deliver information exchange solutions that pass the rigorous testing required to operate on the nation's most secure networks. SIS solutions are nationally recognized within the government as state-of-the-art, affordable, secure, and scalable.


Job Purpose

DoD Business analysts oversee and advise on financial portfolios for sponsored research projects. They are experts in the GTRI Body of Knowledge for DoD Sponsored Program Financial Deliverables and requirements such as: Earned Value Management, DoD Financial, Accounting, and Contract structures, Georgia Tech financial systems, and sponsored program financial deliverables. They are responsible for the financial forecasting, reporting, closeout planning, and financial management of DoD sponsored projects.


Key Responsibilities

Uses existing tools and templates to assist senior DoD FAs with:

* Proposal Estimates

* Financial Forecasting Reporting

* Monthly DoD Financial Deliverables

* DoD Financial Core Metrics

* Maintains project forecasts and spend plans Assist PD/PIs by implementing standard financial management tools and processes as appropriate for the project.


Additional Responsibilities

  • The DoD Business Analyst will work with a diverse group of engineers from around the country as well as various GTRI labs and technical research areas.
  • The Business Analyst will contribute to technical reports and presentations for projects of moderate to high complexity.
  • The Business Analyst will compile report input from other researchers and prepare final report deliverables, contribute to white papers and proposals, and propose and lead IRAD programs.
  • The Business Analyst will provide purchasing support and inventory management to the Project PM and provide adhoc administrative support to PM as needed.


Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to organize work effectively and prioritize objectives with a high level of independent judgment and initiative. Skilled in managing competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to research new topics and master new technologies
  • Excellent communication through email and phone calls, interpersonal skills and attention to details.
  • Strong reasoning and problem solving.
  • A self-starter able to function independently and see complex tasks through to completion.
  • Create functional working relationships with individuals of different technical backgrounds and experiences.
  • Ability to prepare, review, revise and distribute technical documents and reports and handle general correspondence of a routine nature.
  • Experience with modern operating systems and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • A strong understanding of the required technologies and methodologies such as Agile software development, software development life cycle, systems engineering and risk management framework.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • An understanding of industry standard system testing processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver technical briefings.
  • Experience fulfilling regulatory and security requirements.
  • Ability to generate requirements from business processes.
  • Digital organization skills to manage vast digital file systems.
