Job Summary

We're seeking qualified applicants for a regular full-time After-School Roving Supervisor position with the County After-School Activities (CASA) program and Youth After-School (YAS) program. CASA and YAS are highly respected afterschool programs serving Loudoun County's elementary and middle school-aged youth for over 30 years. Our team embraces the uniqueness of each child, inclusive of all individual abilities or needs. After-School Supervisors assist in the planning and implementation of recreational activities such as indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, holiday-themed and special projects, as well as quieter activities like snacks and homework time for children. After-School Supervisors also supervise other programming staff, including Leaders and Aides. This position reports to the PRCS main office during morning hours or for the full day when schools are closed.

We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
* PRCS, 742 Miller Drive, Leesburg, VA 20175

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Oversee recreational programs for children by ensuring child safety, promoting positive connections with children, site management, ordering supplies, implementing goals, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, training and supervising staff performance, and conflict resolutions.
* Develop plans, and facilitate activities, group games, and reading time following the curriculum and the needs of the children.
* Provide a welcoming and safe environment for children and perform daily health checks, and handle food service items and emergency procedures.
* May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.

*Please include all employment and volunteer experience working with or supervising children in childcare, recreation, and educational settings. *

*The CASA program operates Monday-Friday, 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., and the YAS program operates Monday-Friday 3:15 pm - 6:15 pm, following the Loudoun County's Public School's academic (10 Months) year calendar. The Roving Supervisor position assists with the summer program substitute coverage and support, typically within the hours of 9am-5pm, but can vary. *


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field focused on children, such as Elementary Education, Nursing, or Recreation, along with at least one year of experience overseeing children in a program setting or an equivalent mix of education and practical experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree preferred in a related field and six (6) months of program experience supervising children.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo pre-employment fingerprinting and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks. First Aid (Infant through Adult)/CPR certifications prior to hire or immediately upon hire. Provide negative TB test/screening completed within 30 days prior to date of hire and renew every 2 years thereafter. Must complete a sworn disclosure statement or affirmation by disclosing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges and renew every 5 years. Must be willing to attend 24 hours of paid annual programmatic training during the school year to enhance skills and knowledge of school-aged childcare and programming. You must be physically able to keep up with participants and lift 50 pounds. MAT training within 90 days of hire. Complete County supervisory, e-learning and MOAT training as required.
