Your Opportunity as the Manager, Customer Logistics

The Customer Logistics Manager is a thought leader that helps drive and execute against supply chain efficiencies, ensures service and order related metrics are met/exceeded, and that order management related processes are executed successfully.

Location: Orrville, Corporate Offices

Work Arrangements: Hybrid, onsite approximately 6-9 days per month, during core weeks as determined by the Company; maybe more as business need requires

In this role you will:

  • Display ResonantTeamLeadership - Manage and support day-to-day activities of theteam, as well as third party brokerage firm(s), to ensure key metrics are met/exceeded (order related). Ensures a continuous improvement mindset across theteamfor order-to-cash related processes and ensures issue resolution. Includes elevation of issues fromteammembers to various levels within the organization as needed. Ensures Company Strategic Initiatives are a priority forteam. Empowersteamand promotes "leading from where you are."

  • Be Highly Collaborative - Responds to specific requests from internal and external customers and drives issue resolution with a proactive mindset. Ensures internal and external customer required activities (i.e., reporting, score carding) are completed timely and accurately. Leads and facilitates meetings with internal and external partners on a regular basis, with a high degree of focus on relationship building.

  • Prioritize Organizational and People Development - Ensures focus on individual andteamdevelopment and is involved in hiring and staffing decisions forteam. At times also involved in hiring and staffing decisions for the broader Department. Responsible for providing ongoing coaching and feedback toteammembers, including the completion of mid-year and year end performance appraisals. Balanceteamworkload and assign/delegate various activities and projects to ensure Department goals are met (i.e., AR goals, service metric goals). Coordinate and lead weeklyteammeetings. Lead/support discussions withteam, peers, and leadership to increase Organizational effectiveness.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement - High degree of focus on increasing productivity at individual,team, and Department level. Ensures focus on supply chain efficiencies (external customers and Smucker), as well as other efficiency opportunities. Includes, but is not limited to, focus on case fill, case pick, truckload utilization, reporting enhancements, and Accounts Receivable improvements. Operates with agility and proactive mindset and is a leader in embracing change.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 years of related business experience

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (V-Lookup, Pivot Table, Formulas)

  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and listening skills

  • Good presentation and facilitation skills

  • Understanding of the supply chain process and order management systems

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time and work through other departments to accomplish customer goals

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • Prior people management experience

  • CPG and supply chain experience

  • Ability to foster a positive and collaborativeteam

  • Ability to delegate appropriately based onteamskills and abilities

  • Ability to coach and mentor others; capable of providing constructive feedback to helpteammembers grow and improve

  • Strong understanding of the role and importance of Customer Logistics within the total supply chain and how our work impacts the total Company.
