DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will engage in entry-level technical tasks, primarily assisting with data collection and field data entry for the federally mandated Highway Performance Monitoring System. You will also support the updating of the computerized database when necessary. Your responsibilities will include aiding summer interns in conducting STAMPP surveys that assess guide rail, shoulder, and drainage conditions. Additionally, you will analyze the accuracy of the RMS Database by referencing existing as-built plans and implementing any required modifications. Work will be assigned under the general guidance of a technical supervisor, who will evaluate the outcomes of your efforts.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal full-time employment, the seasonal program is from May through October.
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or
  • One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
  • This particular position requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
