DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be tasked with executing a wide range of testing protocols that adhere to the guidelines established by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), ASTM International (ASTM), and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Test Methods (PTMs). Your responsibilities will include conducting various tests on both coarse and fine aggregates, as well as preparing samples for transfer to concrete or chemistry laboratories and for petrographic analysis. Additionally, you will ensure that all testing equipment is functioning correctly by performing daily inspections, conducting monthly maintenance, and carrying out necessary cleaning procedures. You will also be responsible for analyzing and interpreting test data, maintaining accurate records, and keeping detailed maintenance logs to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of experience in the testing of materials used in highway, bridge, building, hydraulic or similar construction projects and graduation from high school; or
- An Associate's Degree in a civil engineering technology or closely related field; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
