DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In the role of Staff Psychiatrist, you will take on the pivotal responsibility of leading a multidisciplinary treatment team, ensuring cohesive and effective patient care. Your duties will extend to providing coverage for fellow Staff Psychiatrists during their scheduled leaves or emergencies, thereby maintaining continuity in psychiatric services. You will conduct thorough and formal psychiatric assessments, meticulously reviewing all psychiatric diagnoses to ensure accurate treatment plans. This position entails performing and documenting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of patients, conducting monthly medication reviews, and responding to urgent situations as they arise. Furthermore, you will actively engage in the development of performance improvement initiatives and contribute to various hospital-wide programs, enhancing the overall quality of care provided within the institution.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday on-call hours may be required
- Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
- Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
Special Requirement:
- You must possess a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
