Minimum Qualifications |

Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or 5+ years of work experience in IT Systems Administration.
- At least 3 years of experience with VMware vSphere, Omnissa (VMware) Horizon, Veeam Backup & Replication
- Proficiency with Active Directory, Palo Alto firewalls, Ivanti Endpoint Manager, Apps Anywhere
- Experience with certificate management
- PowerShell or similar scripting language experience
- Experience with tools like Nagios, PRTG, or SolarWinds to monitor system performance and availability

Position Summary |
The IT Systems Support Professional position, which reports to the IT Manager of Systems and Infrastructure within
FMD-IT, is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various hardware, software, and networking. Typical responsibilities include maintaining virtualization infrastructure for
VDI and hosted virtual servers, configuring networking switches and firewalls, monitoring and testing the backup infrastructure, security patching, and assisting the helpdesk with ticket completion. This role works closely with the
FMD-IT helpdesk, as well as other departments across the
UGA campus, to ensure that exceptional service is consistently provided. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Detail orientated and able to multi-task, problem solve and take initiative.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Networking knowledge with an understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and routing
- Proficiency in VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms for server and desktop virtualization
- Operating System experience with Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS) and/or Linux
- Knowledge of backup/disaster recovery implementations and products like Veeam or similar
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
