MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Gorman & Company is looking for a full-time, skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Orton Keyes property in Rockford, IL, a 175-unit affordable housing apartment community. As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be the go-to-person for keeping our property running smoothly. You'll be responsible for:
- Corrective maintenance by completing resident service requests.
- Unit preparation to include painting, cleaning, repairing and/or replacing appliances, plumbing and/or electrical fixtures, etc.
- Preventive maintenance by regularly inspecting grounds, property, plumbing, electrical fixtures and appliances for repair, wear, and damage.
- Emergency maintenance when needed.
- Clean and supply designated areas.
- Assist with snow removal.
What do I need to qualify to be a Maintenance Technician?
- Must have your own vehicle, a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Previous maintenance experience required.
- On-Call required.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and experience in servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing a variety of items such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, carpentry, standard appliances and pool maintenance (if applicable).
- Must have your own tools.
- Must be able to read work orders/service requests.
- Good safety habits.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
