Position Summary
The Business/Administrative Associate (Program Manager, Perioperative Services) will support the department in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and with daily operations. This will include partnering with the Perioperative Services Leadership Team to manage projects, optimize the electronic medical record system, and improve processes. This position will also supervise the clerical staff and oversee projects that will improve patient experience and satisfaction. The Program Manager will support the charge reconciliation process and support the Director Team to implement new processes that improve the efficiency of the department.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and lead projects with the appropriate leadership/areas within Perioperative Services.
  • Direct, coordinate, and supervise clerical staff to improve patient satisfaction in the department.
  • Partner with the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Special Projects to track the progress of key projects and initiatives for the department.
  • Leverage technology to ensure that solutions and applications support department objectives.
  • Collaborate with the reporting team to analyze operational data to identify and improve organizational performance and efficiency.
  • Identify gaps and lead projects to implement solutions where necessary.
  • Provide appropriate communication, guidance, and education as necessary to improve operational and financial metrics.
  • Oversee charge entry and charge reconciliation processes.
  • Lead Employee Engagement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with individuals both internal and external to the department.
  • Work collaboratively with the Perioperative Services Directors to support department initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
    2. Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience.

      (NOTE: A Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.)

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (Epic OpTime), Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, and other project management tools
    • Experience managing and leading teams.
    • Effective communication skills (oral and written) that facilitate positive relationships between patients, families, peers, and health care providers.
    • Ability to demonstrate leadership, drive results, and solve problems.
    • Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma and process improvement methodologies.
    • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
    • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, data entry, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
    • Knowledge of technology including electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, and their applications.
