The Undergraduate Student Program Coordinator plays a key role in supporting student retention, engagement, and success within the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering (WCE). This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing co-curricular programs that enhance the academic and professional journey of WCE students. The coordinator fosters leadership development, community building, and professional growth by delivering dynamic programming, facilitating outreach efforts, and building strategic campus and community partnerships. The coordinator ensures efficient program oversight, operational management, and the continuous improvement of student-focused initiatives.
Job Description Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
- Oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of co-curricular programs and events that support WCE students, ensuring alignment with the College's mission and student success goals.
- Coordinates the development and execution of various student events, including Holmes Is Your Home, Eagles Excel for First Time in College (FTIC) students, and National Engineers Week, ensuring smooth logistics and successful implementation.
- Collaborates with WCE Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) to coordinate events such as Eagle Expo, Say Yes to the Nest, and student competitions.
- Assists with recruitment and onboarding for Student Workers and Learning Hub Student Fellows, from posting job opportunities to conducting orientations.
- Leads the recruitment, training, and management of WCE Ambassadors, offering leadership development opportunities and preparing ambassadors to represent the College effectively at events.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure the success of programs and to identify opportunities for growth or expansion of existing offerings.
- Leads and trains student workers and volunteers, overseeing their roles within the programs, tracking their performance, and fostering their professional development.
- Coordinates event logistics including scheduling, room arrangements, ordering supplies, catering, organizing volunteers, and securing guest speakers.
- Ensures efficient execution of events, providing on-site support and troubleshooting as needed to ensure all activities run smoothly.
- Attends event planning and coordination meetings, providing updates, and ensuring alignment with event goals and timelines.
- Provides operational support in the WCE Learning Hub, assisting Student Fellows and contributing to student success initiatives.
- Conducts campus tours for prospective WCE students, showcasing the college's offerings and enhancing recruitment efforts.
- Supports K-12 engagement efforts such as summer camps, College for a Day, and partnerships with Hendry and Glades counties.
- Partners with WCE Content & Digital Marketing Coordinator to create promotional materials and social media content that boosts student participation and visibility of events.
- Assists with data collection and interpretation to evaluate program outcomes, making recommendations for future program improvements based on student success metrics.
Other Duties:
- Provides support for WCE department-level events and grant-related initiatives.
- Performs additional administrative and programmatic tasks as assigned to support the goals of the College.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description Minimum Requirements for a Undergraduate Student Engagement Coordinator Level I:
- This position requires either four years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
- Experience with computer systems and proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Minimum Requirements for a Undergraduate Student Engagement Coordinator Level II:
- This position requires either six years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Experience with computer systems and proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Undergraduate Student Engagement Coordinator Level I- Pay Grade 15 Undergraduate Student Engagement Coordinator Level II- Pay Grade 16 Applicants will be evaluated for roles as either Undergraduate Student Engagement Coordinator I or Undergraduate Student Engagement Coordinator II based on their qualifications.
