Role Overview:
New York Life's Communications Delivery team is seeking a detail-oriented, data-savvy Operations Analyst to join our dynamic and evolving team. This role sits within the Operations arm of the Communications Delivery Team and is essential to our mission of enhancing and modernizing the ways we connect with our customers across various channels, particularly focusing on digital channels. You'll be at the forefront, playing a pivotal role in creating and analyzing operational data and providing crucial support for project management and executive-level reporting. Additionally, you'll be instrumental in developing methods to improve and standardize our reporting processes.

In addition, your responsibilities will extend to coordinating small projects within our Operations team. This could involve a diverse range of support tasks related to audit, compliance, governance, process engineering, vendor management, expense management, and special improvement initiatives.

We're searching for someone who possesses strong analytical and visualization skills to effectively communicate the impact of the team's work. A high degree of curiosity to understand how and why things operate as they do is essential. Moreover, we need a strong collaborator-someone who can work seamlessly with others but also thrive independently.

What You'll Do:

  • Help develop, improve, and maintain dashboards and reporting using Tableau, Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, and PowerPoint.
  • Support the preparation of executive-level PowerPoint presentations, with a focus on clear data storytelling and visualizations.
  • Assist in project management and coordination across multiple initiatives.
  • Provide governance, compliance, and reporting support, ensuring data integrity and accountability across team efforts.
  • Leverage AI tools and platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Co-Pilot, Excel AI features, etc.) to enhance analysis, automate repetitive tasks, and support roadmap development.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams executing digital communications to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, outliers, and insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • With an eye on continuous improvement, ensure consistency & efficiency of all processes supporting the team.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.Areas of study: Operations, data analysis, Financial, Business Administration, Information Technology or Computer Science
  • 3-5 years of experience in operations, data analysis, or financial/expense reporting roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups), PowerPoint, and Tableau.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with project coordination or project management practices.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a cross-functional team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present findings to leadership in a concise, impactful way.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience with AI tools for data analysis or operational automation is a plus.
  • Experience in supporting communications, marketing, or digital engagement teams is preferred
  • Exposure to governance and compliance processes within corporate environments is preferred
  • Experience with Smartsheet is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Scaled Agile and JIRA/Confluence is a plus.
  • Background in financial services or insurance industry is a plus.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$90,000-$110,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.

Please note: This role requires FINRA Associated Person pre-hire fingerprinting.
