The Johns Hopkins Hospital, renowned for its excellence in healthcare and patient care, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Abdominal Transplant Advanced Practice Provider, APP, either an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, NP, or Physician Assistant, PA, to join our dynamic Transplant Services team. Job Description:

We are looking for an Abdominal Transplant APP to provide comprehensive care to our transplant patients. In this role, you will work collaboratively with our transplant surgeons, physicians, and multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care to patients undergoing abdominal organ transplants, including liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct thorough pre-transplant evaluations and assessments of potential transplant candidates.
  • Assist in the selection and evaluation of suitable organ transplant recipients.
  • Coordinate and manage the care of transplant patients through all phases of their transplant journey, from evaluation to post-operative care and long-term follow-up.
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Provide patient education on transplant procedures, medications, and post-operative care.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives related to transplant services.



Qualifications:



  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing, Acute Care, from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, or Masters in Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of Maryland.
  • Board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Active CDS and DEA licensure
  • BLS Health Care Provider CPR certification required: AHA or Red Cross accepted
  • 2 years of inpatient surgery clinical APP experience preferred, in transplant services or a related field preferred. Will consider new graduate ACNP or PA with strong acute care PA experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Salary Range: Minimum $53.15/hour - Maximum $82.38/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
