Primary Purpose of Department
The mission of the Office of Adult Students and Evening Services is to assist in the recruitment and retention of adult, non-traditional students.
Primary Purpose of Position
The purpose of the position is to serve as the stop out engagement and recruitment coordinator providing high touch services and general education to prospective, new, currently enrolled, and reentry undergraduate adult students served by the Office of Adult Students and Extended Services ( OASES). The position responsibilities encompass guiding the recruitment initiatives, building campus partnerships, maintaining and analyzing student data, and cultivating a stop out funnel. The professional advises students to include information on academic policy, services, and resources. The professional nurtures existing and builds new relationships with partners dedicated to serving the population. The professional develops, administers, and evaluates educational programs and services using strategic and efficient organizational skills. The professional works with academic departments' staff and faculty to determine degree completion options and market undergraduate adult students' graduation success.
Summary of Position Responsibilities
The position responsibilities are to serve as a stop-out and recruitment/re-enrollment program coordinator and to provide academic guidance to prospective, new, currently enrolled, and undergraduate reentry students.
The position responsibilities encompass the following:

  • Assist with recruitment initiatives by providing high touch services and assistance in the readmission process.
  • Assist prospective and enrolled undergraduate adult students with admission, readmission, and transition processes.
  • Review previously completed credit for degree completion options, explain academic policies, and advise on campus services and resources.
  • Analyze student data to identify reentry recruitment opportunities and evaluate graduation success of reentry students.
  • Assists in developing communication and recruitment materials for the reentry student population.
  • Assist in developing, administering, and evaluating undergraduate reentry student success programs and services using strategic and efficient organizational skills.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to determine degree completion options, recruitment opportunities, and graduation success. Build new relationships with on-campus partners to serve the reentry undergraduate population.
  • The professional is responsible for composing and developing written communication to students, reviewing recruitment materials, and providing information for annual reports.

Minimum Education/Experience

  • A master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three to five years of admissions recruitment experience at the university level and/or three to five years of undergraduate student academic advising experience at the university level.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Previous academic advising experience of undergraduate adult students in a university setting.
  • Proficiency with the Banner student system and web technology.
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and maintain a recruitment-oriented focus.
  • Flexibility to be responsible for a full range of recruitment activities.
  • Ability to analyze data to inform decision making.
  • Ability to follow academic policy and procedures.
  • Energetic with a strong sense of initiative, demonstrate the ability to work well independently and in a team.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make sound, independent judgments.
  • Flexible with working hours, be prompt, demonstrate professionalism.
  • Express in writing and verbally a genuine interest in educating adult learners.
