Managed by 44 full time staff and over 185 student employees, the Carolina Union builds a sense of community as a unifying force on campus and provides students the space and resources needed to put theory into practice. |
Position Summary |
The Housekeeping Manager supervises and trains three shifts of Housekeepers, maintaining a 165,000 Sq. Ft. facility. Responsible for tracking and maintaining maintenance inventory and maintenance budget. Develops proposals for equipment purchases. Monitors the condition of the physical facility daily to determine work needs, prioritizes jobs to be done. Schedules major projects at least a semester in advance. Reviews invoices for accuracy. Works with staff to ensure the Union Facility is opened. Opens facility Monday through Friday. Measures and evaluates work processes, services, and products to achieve organizational goals. Recruits, selects, evaluates performance, counsels, and disciplines in compliance with Human Resources policies and procedures. Supervises a student housekeeping team of up to 14 students. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require certification or eligibility for certification. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
* Graduation from High School or possession of a
GED, and one year of experience in the area assigned; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Where applicable, must be eligible for the required certification.
* Possess valid NC driver's license required with clean driving record |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
* Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
* Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
* Has experience working with English as a Second Language '
ESL' staff. |
