Overview

The AVP, Internal & Executive Communications will report to the Chief People and Communications Officer and will manage all areas of the global internal communications program. This person will work prominently with Human Resources, Marketing, the AmTrust Executive Committee and across the business to ensure consistent and effective strategic internal messaging.

The AVP, Internal & Executive Communications leads the internal communications team and provides strategic partnership and counsel to internal clients and business partners in communicating the company's key business priorities. The team actively seeks insight into employee sentiment and solicits employee input via surveys, focus groups, and informal discussions. The Internal Communications team delivers employee and executive communications using a variety of communication channels and works to ensure employees have the information they need to succeed in their roles. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.



Responsibilities

* Works with AmTrust executives, Human Resources, Marketing, and the Business Segments to develop and implement internal communications strategies.

* Works to ensure AmTrust leadership is visible and accessible through the use of a variety of communication channels and events. Supports Executive Leadership's strategy and helps raise awareness of, and engagement with, the company's vision, mission and core values of the organization.

* Contributes to key HR communications including Open Enrollment, Benefits, Wellness, and Learning and Development.

* Provides guidance to communications specialists in GTO, Claims, Finance and other business areas to ensure communications are impactful, high-quality and adhere to editorial standards.

* Identifies the best tools for internal communications to employees globally, for corporate-wide messages, and best tools for department or business unit specific employees, for targeted messages.

* Oversees communications tools, such as employee newsletter, Intranet, memos, Teams and other company-wide channels.

* Leads internal communications team, providing coaching, guidance and development opportunities.

* Establishes internal communications calendar.

* Oversees company recognition programs.

* Coordinates town hall events and corporate planning meetings, including logistics and leadership presentations.

* Solicits feedback on communications effectiveness, measures message absorption and intranet analytics and takes steps to adjust messages or channels as needed (e.g., focus groups and pulse checks)

* Keeps current with insurance industry issues and trends.

* Due to the nature of this role, travel, including overnight travel, may be required.

* Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Required:

* BS/BA degree in Communications or related field

* Experience in development and execution of communication strategies in a performance-driven environment

* Experience working closely with executive leadership and drafting communications for executives

* Exceptionally strong writing skills with experience writing for various platforms and audiences

* Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills

* Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail

The salary range for this role is $190,000 - $200,000/year. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
