We are looking for a Regional Business Class Leader for HDR's Central Region to be a member of our Strategic Communications program, a global team of communicators who are passionate about putting people first in planning and infrastructure. As a full-service communications, engagement, and creative practice, we develop and implement ideas to bring people together in projects of every size and sector. We help people get to know each other, foster understanding, and build more connected, equitable, and sustainable communities.

As a Strategic Communications Regional Business Class Leader, you will direct the development and management of Strategic Communications teams in HDR's Central Region including North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. You will work collaboratively as part of the broader Strategic Communications leadership team. In this role, we'll count on you to:



  • Take responsibility for area coordination, monitoring and improvement of technical competencies of business class staff and deliverables to meet client needs and market drivers
  • Establish positive relationships and collaborate on business class efforts with area operations, marketing and project management leaders
  • Participate in business class practice and professional discipline groups, project teams and activities to continually improve standards and best practices
  • Work cooperatively with other business class regional directors and business group directors
  • Participate in regional business class strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation
  • Lead and support project delivery to maintain utilization targets
  • Assist StratComm teams in HDR's Central Region by monitoring utilization, supporting workload planning and workshare opportunities, providing technical training/assistance when needed, and communicating pertinent business class information
  • Assist with external marketing and business development opportunities
  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand
  • Experience helping teams define strategies and goals, prioritize initiatives, and make progress towards key performance indicators
  • Proven track record of success in building a book of business related to communication services

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
  • 10 years experience in related field
  • Maintains a professional or Engineering registration and has related technical experience
  • Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with other business class regional directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
  • Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Minneapolis: $162,068 - $231,525. Chicago and Denver: $169,785 - $242,550
