AI Security Specialist | Medical Device Security

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Emerging Technology Security Manager, the AI Integrity Specialist is a technical role that works collaboratively across all functional areas related to artificial intelligence systems, machine learning models, and AI-enabled applications within our healthcare institution. This position provides expert guidance on strategic and technical initiatives for AI security, with a focus on model integrity and security controls. The role ensures AI security programs and technical controls adhere to policies, applicable laws, and regulations specific to the healthcare industry. The AI Integrity Specialist will work closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to develop and implement secure AI systems that can be effectively operationalized. The AI Integrity Specialist position is a valued member of the IPSO department and will work closely with other members of the SOC, IPSO (Risk, Privacy, etc.), and IT programs to develop and implement a comprehensive approach to the management of AI security risks.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Lead AI security monitoring and incident response initiatives, with a primary focus on model integrity and security.
  • Establish and maintain the AI security framework for the enterprise, emphasizing healthcare-specific requirements
  • Monitor AI model behavior for signs of tampering or adversarial attacks.
  • Conduct security assessments of AI models before deployment.
  • Implement and maintain AI security monitoring solutions.
  • Perform regular audits of AI training data and model outputs.
  • Investigate potential data poisoning attempts and model manipulation.
  • Monitor for unauthorized model access or extraction attempts.
  • Evaluate AI model robustness and security controls.
  • Implement security measures for MLOps pipelines.
  • Document and track AI security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Create and maintain AI security policies and procedures.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Security, or related STEM field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in AI/ML development or security required.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and model security.
  • Experience with adversarial machine learning and attack mitigation.
  • Knowledge of AI ethics and responsible AI principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing AI system security.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex AI security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technology Requirements AI Security Monitoring Tools:

    • Model monitoring platforms. MLOps security tools.
    • Training data validation systems.
    • AI anomaly detection systems.


  • Security Tools:

    • SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar).
    • EDR solutions. Cloud security tools.
    • Data security platforms.


  • AI Integrity Tools:

    • Model validation frameworks.
    • Adversarial testing tools.
    • Model forensics platforms.
    • Data provenance tracking systems




CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:



  • At least one of the following certifications are required, but two are preferred: CompTIA AI+. Azure AI Engineer. Certified AI/ML Professional. CISSP. AWS Machine Learning Specialty. Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer
