GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Epic Data Courier Administrator configures, manages, and supports the interfaces used to migrate application build between Epic EHR (Electronic Health Record) non-production and production environments using the Data Courier application. As an Epic Data Courier Administrator and Epic EHR Printing SME (Subject Matter Expert), this role will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and secure transfer of EHR build data within the Epic EHR system and be the go-to expert for all matters related to EHR printing. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams (technical and application), troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain the highest standards of data integrity. The Epic Data Courier Administrator plays a crucial role in managing data transfer and integration processes within healthcare organizations that use Epic Systems' Electronic Health Record (EHR) software. The Data Courier Administrator oversees the implementation and maintenance of data transfer mechanisms, ensuring the seamless flow of information across different components of the Epic EHR system. This role will be pivotal to collaborate with IT teams (analysts, application teams, technical teams, and other stakeholders) to interface Epic environments through Epic's Data Courier, ensuring data consistency and accuracy for application build data as well as facilitating related smooth and efficient data transfers between Epic environments.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) required.
  • Equivalent experience would be five (5) years of related IT experience.
  • Overall knowledge of Operating systems, database, security, authentication methods required.
  • Expertise in handling incident reports, problem management, change and release process required.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working in Healthcare IT or Epic Print Management including any time as a Data Courier analyst required.
  • Five (5) or more years preferred in these role(s)/function(s).
  • Three (3) or more years working with Epic EHR and Data Courier functions OR five (5) or more years in this function/role preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in developing new system Data Courier interfaces in production is highly preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with maintaining post-live production DC paths is highly preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of applicable experience in a multi-facility Healthcare setting preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of hands-on experience on Epic chronicles preferred. Conversant/experienced with EHR printing concepts, process, and design.
  • Managing/leading and interpreting print management administration issues, monitoring, reporting, escalation for resolution is highly preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and experience with on call rotations - 24 x 7 required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for training and support required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment required.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing Data Courier processes within an Epic environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data standards, privacy regulations, and security best practices required.
  • Attend industry and Epic training classes and conferences (such as Epic XGM) as required.
  • System Administration experience is highly preferred.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Must be self-directed and can adapt to sudden changes.
  • Strong understanding of process flows, and implementation roll outs.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work with different organizations and teams.
  • Capable of working independently or as a member of a team.
  • Effective communication skills with leaders, users, and technical colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems within a converged communications infrastructure.


CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:



  • Epic certification in Data Courier or equivalent content management product required (this can be obtained within the first year of employment). Required to obtain certification within one year of at least one Epic Application (Data Courier).
  • Required to maintain Epic Data Courier certification (initial certification to be obtained within first year).
