The Role

We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced individual to join our team as Sr. Director Business Development. In this crucial role, you will play a key part in defining, developing, and evolving our holistic 360-degree customer strategy. You'll contribute to maximizing value for and with our key clients across their entire lifecycle, ensuring our engagement is comprehensive, impactful, and mutually beneficial. You'll work closely with various teams, bringing your expertise to enhance our customer relationships and drive shared success. You will champion a truly collaborative approach, ensuring our engagement is comprehensive, impactful, and mutually beneficial.

This position will report to the Vice President National Sales- Cloud Technology Group.

The Main Responsibilities
* Act as a central point of contact and subject matter expert for 360-degree customer engagement across the organization.
* Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Executive leadership to ensure alignment and seamless execution of the strategy.
* Develop enablement programs to equip internal teams with the knowledge and tools to effectively execute the 360-degree customer strategy.
* Partner with Account Teams to strengthen and champion a comprehensive 360-Degree Customer Strategy: Organize teams around a unified framework for engaging with customers across all touchpoints, ensuring a consistent and high-value experience. Identify and prioritize strategic customer segments and accounts for deeper engagement.
* Establish clear objectives, KPIs, and success metrics for the overall 360-degree customer strategy.
* Regularly analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscapes to inform and evolve the strategy.
* Executive Engagement & Relationship Management:Develop and execute strategies for high-impact executive-level engagement with key customer stakeholders. Cultivate and strengthen relationships with senior leaders within our strategic accounts. Identify opportunities for joint strategic planning and collaboration at the executive level.
* Collaborate with sales, product, and marketing teams to refine and optimize our selling approach, ensuring it aligns with customer needs and long-term value.
* Identify new revenue opportunities within existing accounts by deeply understanding customer challenges and aspirations.
* Develop strategies for cross-selling and up-selling that enhance the customer's overall success.
* Focus on our customers as a partner to Lumen: Establish processes and frameworks for effectively leveraging our customers as strategic partners. Centralize updates and progress of co-creation and beta programs, ensuring broad awareness and knowledge of opportunities. Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and alliances with customers that drive mutual innovation and growth.
* Work closely with build efforts to create Go-to-Market (GTM) offers customers: Work with Product Management around the development of co-branded or jointly developed go-to-market strategies and offerings with key customers. Collaborate with product, marketing, and sales teams to bring these joint GTM initiatives to market effectively.Measure the success of co-created offers and iterate based on performance and customer feedback
* Use partnerships to bring value conversations to partners, and show how Lumen can solve problems.
* Work with customers to drive business outcomes.
* Leads the development and implementation of business development programs through in-depth research, partner contact, and complex strategic analysis.
* Leads the development of strategic and business models relative to the acquisition of new innovations, partnerships, products, and services.
* Collaborates with the internal Lumen ecosystem and stakeholders to structure and negotiate the most complex client deals from inception through deal closure, and effectively manage multiple ongoing key relationships.
* Leads the development and presentation of conceptual and detailed partnership proposals and summaries, for the most complex strategies, for various internal and external stakeholders, including executive audiances.
* Initiates, develops, drives and supports key internal and external relationships necessary to achieve Lumen's growth strategies.
What We Look For in a Candidate

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience. Typically with 3+ years experience at manager level in conjunction with 15+ years related experience or 12+ years related experience with a Master's degree.
* Proven experience in executive engagement, alignment, or a related leadership role.
* Strong understanding of sales operations and the ability to coordinate efforts between executives and sales teams.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior executives effectively.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive decision-making and measure success.
* Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
* A clear track record for consistently exceeding revenue goals.
* Demonstrated leadership ability, people-management, and mentoring skills.
* Experience at being a strategic member of a sales management team who contributes significantly to growth and development of the business.
* High energy level and demonstrated drive to succeed.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$163,993 - $218,657 in these states: CA.
