Responsibilities

JOB TITLE: Dietary Aide (630 AM to 630 PM) (Three days a week including every other weekend)

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Dietary Aide plays a vital role in ensuring our patients nutritional requirements are taken care of.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Dietary Aide major takies patient meal orders
  • Delivers carts to the correct floor or patient area
  • Collects trays and places garbage and trash in designated containers
  • Replenish floor stock with food and nutrition items
  • Assembles required portions for patient meals while ensuring high quality food served at appropriate temperture
  • Assists in the assembly of all flatware and kitchenware
  • Proper rotation during restocking floor stock
  • Responsible for setup, breakdown and sanitation of all patient trayline equipment and serving areas while ensureing high qualify food served at appropriate temperature Performs computer related activies as required
  • Knowledge of patient diets sufficient to serve patient meals accurately

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Minimum Age: 18

Skills/Aptitude:

  • Prior experience working in a hospital, commercial restaurant, or other food service operation preferred
  • Ability to accurately follow oral and written instructions in English
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions when using, disposing, and mixing chemicals
  • Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect
  • Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, supervisors, managers, and all customers
  • Must comply with dress code requirements
  • Must be able to work weekdays, rotating weekends, and some holidays
  • Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Physical Requirements: Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours)
