STV currently has an opening in our Hartford, CT office for aRail Transit Managerin our Transportation division.

The Transit Manager will manage Rail Transit tasks and projects as needed. Tasks to include, but not limited too, planning, scope development, estimating, management and coordination of construction services and other activities as assigned on capital projects. Candidate should work independently with multi-discipline A&E disciplines with experience managing largeprograms. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing all tasks assigned and allocate them appropriately to the client's satisfaction.

In the role of Rail Transit Manager, we will count on you to:

  • Take responsibility for all aspects of client and team management ofRail Projects including Rail Transit Facilities.
  • Manage the assembly of plans, specifications and construction estimate packages.
  • Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity while planning and developing projects or designing activities that limit the impact on rail transit services.
  • Be able to plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of design, construction professionals and technicians.
  • Serve as Project Coordinator on projects as needed; project coordination is not the sole focus of position.
  • Serve as a high-level point of contact between the client and STV.
  • Understand the contractual and operating environments as they relate to the NEC and commuter agencies in the entire Northeast.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred, or, a satisfactory equivalent of industry experience, and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of full-time related experience, including at least five (5) years of managerial/supervisory experience.
    • Preferred minimum of 15 years of experience in railway inspection, engineering and construction services
  • Skilled in technical report writing, communicating including presenting to clients and the public.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team on railway and other large-scale projects.

Desired Skills:

  • Significant experience in rail operations, including service delivery, on time performance, equipment utilization, safety goals and objectives, service planning, operating rules, and agreements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience and understanding in the planning design, construction, and coordination of larger capital projects especially along the Northeast corridor.
  • In-depth knowledge of Rail/Transit design standards, operations and facilities.
  • Familiarity with FRA's 49CFR Part 213 Track Safety Standards. AREMA guidelines and practices.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a safe manner.

* SCOPE: Oversee all phases of planning and execution on engineering, procurement, and construction projects.
Ensure technical excellence, serving as a primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, and the project team. Plan, organize, and coordinate projects, maintaining adherence to company policies and procedures.
Supervise project personnel through subordinate leaders, ensuring effective team management. Assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, and monitor budgets against plans.

Compensation Range:

$140,810.99 - $187,747.98
