Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Alumni Tutor for the School of Nursing. The Director will train the candidate to provide academic support to students on the Rutgers Newark Campus as well as remote support via online tutoring to our students in New Brunswick and Blackwood.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Provides individual online tutoring sessions to students, offering personalized support and guidance tailored to their learning needs.
  • Conducts online group tutoring sessions for courses, fostering a collaborative virtual learning environment and addressing common challenges faced by students.
  • Prepares and develops educational resources for online use, enhancing the effectiveness of group tutoring sessions by creating relevant, engaging, and curriculum-aligned materials.
  • Works on projects that support the program during their scheduled hours.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or discontinuation, and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.

Certifications/Licenses
  • Licensed Registered Nurse.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of the Accelerated BS in Nursing program at Rutgers School of Nursing (minimum 3.5 cum GPA in accelerated nursing program). Grade of B or higher in the courses in which they will be tutoring.
