JOB SUMMARY Provides leadership and direction for the Hospital Analytics function. Serves as a strategic advisor to Hospital and Health System Executive leadership to provide data-driven insights for hospital operations and other strategic initiatives. Establishes and executes a comprehensive analytics vision that drives hospital performance improvement, growth, and operational excellence. Builds and leads a high-performing analytics team that delivers actionable insights and innovative solutions for complex healthcare challenges. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required
- Education
Bachelor's Degree in business administration, Computer Science, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Informatics, Nursing, or other relevant field
- Experience
7 years of data analysis experience in a healthcare setting. 5 years of experience with quality improvement, LEAN, Six Sigma, Institute for Healthcare Improvement, High Reliability Organizations and/or other improvement methodologies, with working knowledge of process improvement methods and statistical process control techniques. Demonstrated proficiency in statistical and data visualization tools similar to, but not limited to, advanced Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SQL Server, SAS, and/or R Demonstrated experience extracting and analyzing data using standard data management practices.

JOB DUTIES
- Serves as a strategic partner to Hospital Executive leadership, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support critical decision-making. Participates in executive-level planning sessions and contributes to the development of hospital strategic initiatives. Translates complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations for operational improvements and strategic positioning.
- Provides oversight of reporting and data analytics projects for Hospital leadership. Serves as the primary contact for executives, directors, and other hospital leadership to design and develop analytical reports and data insights that support strategic or operational initiatives. Leads and supervises multi-disciplinary reporting projects. Defines reporting project and portfolio scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with executive leadership, owners, and stakeholders. Supports the development and implementation of data analytics projects and provides recommendations and best practices for future developments. Builds and maintains positive relationships with leadership, collaborators, and other key stakeholders.
- Designs and performs advanced data analysis and engages in advanced analytics activities including developing analytical reports and dashboards, automating existing tools, and planning new data models in support of Hospital leadership initiatives.
- Develops creative, innovative reporting solutions for Hospital operations optimization, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives. Identifies gaps and trends from data and assists in the continued improvement and execution of Hospital operational strategies.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for Hospital reporting platforms, databases, and data business rules. Collaborates with executive leadership in designing and building new metrics and key performance indicators. Upholds data governance frameworks by documenting business requirements and seeking approvals for changes to existing data sources or business rules. Sustains data integrity and participates in data governance activities.
- Supervises the collection, validation, and visualization of clinical and operational data. Delegates routine reporting projects and triages ad-hoc data analytics requests from Hospital leadership. Writes and implements data queries, provides recommendations for optimized reports and processes, and coordinates routine reporting for director-level and executive-level meetings.
- Leads the team in conducting training classes on analytical reporting for Hospital leadership and business partners. Identifies learning opportunities and creates lesson plans for interpreting and using reporting resources. Actively promotes opportunities for data-driven insights and decision making and engages employees in the achievement of departmental and organizational goals.
- Demonstrates continuous performance improvement in targeted areas of responsibility in alignment with the overall Health System performance goals and responsibilities.
- Supports achievement of quality improvement and operational excellence initiatives, as well as system-wide goals and objectives.
- Participates in professional development training on technical, clinical, or leadership subject areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
