Endoscopy Technician (Per Diem Day), Toms River, NJ

Job Overview:

The Endoscopy Technician is a caregiver who assists the Registered Nurse in maintaining maximum work levels in an infection-free environment and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• BLS

Preferred:

• Previous Endoscopy experience

Scheduling Requirements:

• Per Diem
• Day Shift

Essential Functions:

• Accurately collects, labels, and delivers specimens as required
• Assist physician and RN during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Demonstrates knowledge of latex allergy and isolation precautions
• Provide direct patient care within his or her scope of practice, under the direct supervision of the RN and/or the physician
• Provide and maintain a safe environment for staff and patient care by complying with regulatory requirements and standards
• Maintain procedure rooms and reprocessing room clean and adequately stocked
• Reports patient complaints, problems, and any untoward signs, symptoms or unusual occurrences immediately to the registered nurse
• Performs all other duties as assigned
