Job Description

The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator works in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director (TMD) and The Trauma Program Manager (TPM) to improve the quality of care that encompasses all areas and disciplines of the hospital that participate in the management of the injured patient. This position is responsible for the coordination, implementation, facilitation and adherence to the Trauma Performance Improvement Program/Plan to include data collection, analysis and trending and benchmarking of data and outcomes. This role collaborates with the TMD and TPM to identify and develop processes to improve outcomes. This position has the responsibility of ensuring adherence to hospital and trauma policies & procedures and clinical practice management guidelines.

This position requires providing service in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

Education/Training/Experience:

Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

3 + years of experience in Emergency Medicine, Trauma, or Critical Care (required).

3 + years of quality improvement experience (preferred).

Ability to manage projects.

Ability to perform statistical analysis with problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office software and database management.

Strong organizational skills

Experience utilizing performance improvement methodologies, i.e. PDSA

Courses/Licenses/Certifications:

Current Pennsylvania RN license (required)

STN-TOPIC within 1 year of hire (required

8 hours ofTrauma Continuing Education Annually (required)

PA Trauma Nurse Course (required)

TNCC, ATCN, TCAR (preferred)

CEN, TCRN, CCRN (required within 2 years of hire)
