POSITION SPECIFICS

The Penn State Alumni Association is seeking a Marketing Generalist to provide marketing and communication support to engage alumni, members, students, friends, parents, volunteers and other diverse audiences. The Alumni Association is committed to ensuring that diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to the success of a world-class research institution. The successful candidate will play a key role in executing marketing strategies that connect alumni to the University and to each other, provide valued services to members, and support the University's mission of teaching, research and service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with teams on storytelling efforts, solicitation campaigns and event promotion.
  • Create digital and print content to support marketing and awareness campaigns, including web pages and emails. Ability to produce visual content, including video, is a plus.
  • Use association's communication platforms to implement email campaigns and engagement programs that motivate action.
  • Gather and report on campaign metrics and relevant analytics.
  • Write and edit content for awards programs, and other special initiatives including scripts, press releases, email content, social media content, web content and advertisements.
  • Copyedit and proof draft marketing materials ensuring compliance with existing University editorial policies.
  • Modify design files and resize art files as needed.
  • Work with external vendors for printing, video production, photography and other needs

This position requires a bachelor's degree and 1+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidates will understand various marketing channels and be able to work on cross-functional, fast-paced teams with multiple deadlines, stakeholders and complexity. Successful candidates will have experience in developing action-oriented marketing content and be skilled in using Microsoft Office/Office 365. Working knowledge of web-based marketing platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Mailchimp, etc.), Adobe applications (InDesign, Photoshop), photography, video, and project management software preferred.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $67,300.00.
