Job Description:

Responsibilities

Health Research Inc. is seeking a Health Education Media Specialist II to work within the Department of Health's Center for Environmental Health Outreach and Education Group in downtown Albany, NY. The incumbent will work with subject matter experts to support the development of clear and concise health promotion media/materials from complex/scientific/technical information. Duties include working with internal subject matter experts and external teams to conduct audience research and provide support for the development of communication plans, messaging, and materials focusing on wastewater surveillance and school environmental health.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience providing health education and/or developing health promotion materials/media; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing messaging for a wide range of audiences.

  • Experience distilling complex scientific/technical information to produce clear and concise materials.

  • Quantitative/Qualitative data management and analysis experience.

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

  • Graphic/media design experience.

  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Experience with HTML editing and website design

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 25% of the time, may be required.

The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available.
