College of Medicine Marketing & Communications:

The College of Medicine's Communications and Marketing team handles internal and external communication for the medical school, including media relations, websites, advertising, publications and social media. We also have an extensive library of photo and video assets available.

The Opportunity:

This position will serve as a multimedia communications specialist for reporting on College of Medicine activities, priorities and news events. Performs complex multimedia operations and production work for a variety of media outlets - traditional and emerging. Work with a team and both internal and external stakeholders to build the national reputation and awareness of UCF's young medical school.

Responsibilities:


  • Write engaging press releases and website stories on news of interest at the medical school in all three areas of its mission -- medical education, research and patient care.

  • Manage and complete multiple, simultaneous projects while meeting deadlines.

  • Work with Communications' team members to develop and implement media plans. Design and create compelling visual marketing assets, including photos, videos and interactive elements for various platforms such as websites and presentations.

  • Serve as professional public representative of the COM and COM leadership, including event engagement and media relations.

  • Work with UCF News and Information, Marketing, and other stakeholders, both internal and external, to coordinate and amplify coverage and find new, innovative ways to communicate with faculty, staff, students and patients.

  • Assist with design, production, and release of related college catalogs, bulletins, marketing materials, journals, program brochures, development communication and community information to ensure consistency of style and presentation and engaging content.

  • Timely completion of university and college training and updates.

  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with at least 2 years of experience in journalism, public relations or marketing writing.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to use and create content in various systems for social media, including Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook.

  • Visual, audio and technical ability to create/edit video and photos, animation software and type.

  • Experience with Word Press, website content creation.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $48,722- $65,165. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
