The Senior Manager, Software Engineering is a hybrid role, based in our Andover MA facility.

This role is a technical leader at the program level, overseeing engineering teams with responsibility for designing,implementing, testing and overall quality of the software for products.

Main Responsibilities:



  • Accountable as the software technical lead on a program responsible for technical management of software team members, including other software managers and technical leads.
  • Responsible for technical management of software architecture, design, development and testing used in various products starting from product definition through software release.
  • Responsible for the technical management and generation of detailed software planning and the estimates associated with those plans while working cross functionally (i.e. HW, Quality, Regulatory, Project Management) with other managers on the program to ensure integrated software timelines are met as planned.
  • Accountable as the software technical lead to work with the software team to use the appropriate tools and generate the appropriate metrics needed to communicate periodic (integrated) status against top down timelines and plans.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all software and system processes and procedures are adhered to in the development of the software. This includes a knowledge of industry standards including IEC 62304, ISO 14971 and QSR 21CFR820.
  • Mentor and motivate individual technical contributors, including career management support to team through coaching, technical mentoring and training.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and apply performance-based rewards consistent with company policy.
  • Lead and emulate company values and culture in day-to-day behaviors and management style.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience; Master's a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing software development teams in a global organization.
  • Minimum of 12 years' progressively responsible experience in the technical disciplines referred to, from low-level embedded to networking to applications to GUIs. Development and / or management of medical devices in a regulated industry is a plus.
  • Experience with iterative software development methodologies
