For one year, you can get paid to build sustainable solutions in a community, gain valuable hands on experience and prepare for your future. This full-time AmeriCorps service position offers a great opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset.

AmeriCorps VISTA members are Volunteers in Service to America who perform indirect service to build capacity and sustainable solutions.

What will you do?

The Marketing and Communications VISTA member will support our affiliate's marketing and communications team by creating and executing a social media strategy for the four Habitat ReStore locations in Metro Denver. The VISTA member will review the social media tactics that have been developed by the current VISTA member, evaluate successes and opportunities, and then develop new strategies to increase audience engagement on the ReStores' social media accounts. The VISTA member will play a key role in growing the following on our newly launched TikTok account and creating effective content for all social media platforms. The VISTA member will put their ideas and research into action and evaluate the social media growth for the ReStores, in partnership with the marketing team.

  • Review the Habitat Denver ReStores social media accounts and past content. Get familiar with the ReStore brand and learn which social media tactics have worked well for the brand in the past, drawing from the social media strategy document and best practices developed by the current VISTA member. Develop a plan that identifies which tactics increase audience engagement. Specifically recommend tactics for our newly-launched TikTok account to help the ReStores reach new customers in our area.
  • Based on the information gathered during research, the VISTA member will develop their own social media strategy document, outlining proven tactics that will increase the presence and engagement of our four ReStores on all social media platforms, specifically TikTok.
  • Assist the local Habitat organization in testing, evaluating, and revising the social media marketing plan as needed to ensure success.
  • Ensure that the marketing and communications tactics developed are sustainable, able to be continued at the local Habitat organization after the completion of the VISTA term, by developing manuals/standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training staff members and volunteers on the new plan.

This position will focus on brand management and virtual/digital systems and platforms aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

  • Unique projects: Habitat Metro Denver will be engaged in a variety of construction, home repair, and ReStore projects during this VISTA's term. This VISTA will have the opportunity to capture communications content to support single-family affordable homeownership opportunities, home repair and preservation projects, and new sales strategies at the Denver-area Habitat ReStores.

When will you serve?

Start dates are flexible and based on this location's availability. Talk to the hiring manager for this position about start dates during your interview process. The start date will be 4-6 weeks from receiving an offer and no earlier than August 2025.

  • Living allowance of $24,893.96 for one year of service.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must hold one of the following citizenship statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident Aliens or is a person residing in a state that have the following legal residency classifications: refugee, asylum or asylee, temporary protected status, or deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) status. Applicants must be at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
