Social Services Manager

Position Summary: The Social Services Manager is responsible for managing the daily functions of the Social Services operation. This role will supervise the Social Services staff and volunteers, lead program development and community collaborations, and monitor program contracts, funding and reporting requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:



  • Provides leadership in service implementation, setting the tone for compassionate service.
  • Provides direction and supervision of staff and volunteers in social services programs, promoting mission alignment.
  • Ensure thorough training and adherence to organizational, state and federal compliance standards.
  • Oversees reception, scheduling, service provision, and vendor procedures.
  • Forms productive relationships with community groups to promote effective service delivery.
  • Supervises record-keeping and reporting.
  • Ensures accurate and up-to-date case records are being maintained in electronic database.
  • Compiles funding applications and reporting to funding entities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, public administration, or related field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • 3 or more years of social service experience
  • 1 or more years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with low-income populations (preferred)


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:



  • Learn and adhere to The Salvation Army Social Services Code of Ethics
  • Adhere to professional codes of ethics as they apply to professional licensing
  • Understand and adhere to professional boundaries within and outside of the organization
  • Maintain client confidentiality and obtain appropriate releases of information
  • Demonstrate a continued effort to increase self-awareness and to better understand other cultures and issues of social justice, and promote racial understanding and reconciliation
  • Complete Caseworker Certification Program within 120 days of hire


Computer Skills:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
  • Willingness to learn new software as needed


Certificates and Licenses:



  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
  • Must have and maintain a current valid driver's license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)
