Make your mark at the world's largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is seeking a CNC Programmer to join our team on a part time basis, estimated 20 hours per week. This individual will use computer-based tools and solid model parts or 2D drawings, specifically SolidWorks CAD/CAM software, design machining programs that can be downloaded to one or more CNC machines, then run the CNC machines to manufacture the part. This includes the set up and operation of CNC and non-CNC machines, maintenance of equipment and facilities in a safe, clean, and efficient operational manner, adherence to procedures and maintaining records in either written or electronic form, regarding safety, quality, productivity, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping. Location: In office, Staunton, VA. What you will do:
- Participate in project planning for determining completed part schedules. Use extensive latitude of independent judgement and product knowledge to translate Engineering intent into easily understood manufacturing documentation and apply the appropriate procedures and/or approach to solutions
- Exhibit solid sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills
- Work with a variety of raw materials
- Plan, set up, operate, and produce quality parts using a variety of CNC and non-CNC machines including 5 Axis, Horizontal Mill, Vertical Turret Lathe, Horizontal Lathe, grinders, saws to produce components for chiller products
- Use measurement devices and visual inspection to ensure quality of product and conformity to prints, CNC programming output, work instructions, and standards
- Demonstrate creative ability, accuracy, and cost effectiveness
- May be required to participate in or lead special project teams, working outside the scope of normal process in order to facilitate and accelerated schedule, or complete work assignments within a determined time frame
- Understand manufacturing practices and processes
- Show proficiency in working with SolidWorks CAM or equivalent CAM systems
- Work independently with limited supervision

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent experience
- 4-6 years' experience with CNC and non-CNC machines
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- This is a parttime position offering approximately 20 hours per week
- The typical salary for this position ranges from $28.61-$45.67 in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
