The Instructional Coordinator assists the Government with the development, delivery, and oversight of select training and education for the National Guard (NG), to include the Joint Staff as it pertains to Homeland Defense Activities; integrate NG joint training requirements with interagency activities. This position is at NGB HQs in Arlington, VA.

What you'll do



  • Prepare classrooms, facilities, and training materials for class.
  • Ensure resources, products, and procedures are efficiently and effectively applied.
  • Create visitors' folders for each course.
  • Inform government of the progress, problems, changes, and constraints encountered.
  • Establish and maintain current production plans.
  • Provide information on the latest improvements in production, distribution, and/or presentation of education/training.
  • Identify and ensure the availability of resources required to accomplish education and training production.
  • Create, maintain, and provide Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) services for NGB Joint Training Courses.
  • Assess, evaluate, document student progress through formal and informal evaluations procedures.
  • Provide education/training expertise to improve training.
  • Provide instructional facilitation services to support SME instruction in a classroom environment.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create, maintain, develop, and publish the course schedule and syllabus.
  • Provide support and training to content SMEs and training developers on performing development/production responsibilities.
  • Work with SMEs developing course content using appropriate learning principles.
  • Design, develop, and disseminate surveys for each course supported by NGB-J7.
  • Collect, analyze, and review data to recommend updates to the Terminal Learning Objectives, (TLOs), Course Management Plans (CMPs), and Programs of Instruction (POIs), including all lesson plans.
  • Identify course and topic areas that can yield significant improvement utilizing accepted analytical processes.
  • Facilitate curriculum development to include digital formats.
  • Maintain and participate in the curriculum review and spiral development process.
  • Employ the tenets and standards of the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) for the development of course materials to ensure training products provide for efficient and effective learning.
  • Conduct inter and intra agency course audits for National Guard applicability.
  • Maintain the NGB Joint Training Schedule and Significant Events Calendar.
  • Provide sustainment and training management to the Government approved plan consolidating joint training readiness support to the JFHQ-States.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Must be qualified and trained in instructional system design and have experience in Small Group Facilitation or have completed an Instructor Training Course.
  • Must have a Secret security clearance.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree.
  • Must have at least five years of instructional/facilitation experience.
  • Must have advanced skills using SharePoint, MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
